Professor Chapman has a career spanning the pharmaceutical industry, the NHS and academia. An energetic and experienced leader of multidisciplinary teams, he founded both the Department of Medicines Management (with Professor Rhona Panton in 1994) and subsequently the Keele School of Pharmacy leading the School through to full accreditation. He sits on the RPS Faculty Board, the Education advisory Panel and the Medicines Optimization Advisory group, the PMCPA appeal board and the Implementation Strategy Group of NICE and is Vice Chair and secretary of PRIMM (formerly the Drug Utilization Research Group),. He has worked at government level for the WHO in the Balkans, Georgia, South Africa, Poland and Denmark and consulted for healthcare organizations at a senior level in the USA, Canada, Sweden and Africa. Professor Chapman has attracted over £22M in grants, enterprise income and consultancy for Keele University.
Luke is a software developer working with higher education and the NHS. He leads on e-learning development projects, software design for mobile platforms and designing innovative learning spaces for clinical simulation. His work specialises in 3D digital animation to produce educational websites, serious games and virtual reality applications for healthcare and patient information. He has developed software to use computer generated characters (or avatars) as virtual patients, combined with natural language interfaces to simulate clinical consultations for healthcare training.
